It'll be interesting to see how they rate them. People are impressed by different things, for example is someone who can play lightning fast lead breaks on a guitar hotter than someone that bends sweet notes? Are some instruments hot and others not?

OK, I've read some more, it sounds quite cool. If this was your creation, well done mate:) Just be careful what else you think. Does that mean you have used up one of your wishes? Can you wish for more wishes?

I agree. How do you compare Steve Via with B.B. King. Judging with is better wouldn't be easy. One is amazingly technical.. with little feeling. The other few notes with a lot of feeling and emotion. It's like comparing apples with oranges. They're both good. They're both fruit.. but they don't taste the same. Some people prefer apples, some prefer oranges.

With american Idol the contestants do have to be careful in deciding on a song to sing, Simon always has to add a statement like that in every show. Yall are right though on choices of what people like..Its exactly like entering a photography challenge where there are votes to see who wins.. The winning photograph is chosen by popularity what the viewers like the most or personal taste. Some people seem to like the non talent stuff, I dont think I would enter even if I did make the age group, cause atleast I know I have ears as well as friends to tell me you are crazy if you think you are ready to go on national tv competing for the best...LOL though I am trying and it could happen one day..:) I never give up....

I watched American Idol the first season and was mildly entertained. I'm not much for pop music. I thought it interesting that the 2nd place winner, Justin Warrini (sp?) is cousin of both Samuel L. Jackson and Randy Jackson.. the judge on the show.

Then the second season when Kelly Clarkson won I had to stop watching. Her singing is just plain bad. I am a collector of recordings of the national anthem and of all the ones I have with vocals I can easily say the worst most horrid one in my collection is Kelly Clarkson. I liked Rosanne's version of it.. wish I could find it to add to my collection :> The most beautiful vocal in that collection is Whitney Houston.
